Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition 10.14.2025: Stop US War on Venezuela; 18 Years of Sandinista Good Government

Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition: Stop US Aggression Against Venezuela! This statement outlines the actions of the US government that make a US attack imminent. “We demand an end to US impunity and the withdrawal of US troops and war materiel from the Caribbean before the situation escalates any further. We vehemently object to the deployment of nuclear capable vessels in a region which, in response to the Cuban Missile Crisis, declared itself a nuclear-free zone in 1967, and which the US committed itself to respect in 1971. We demand respect for international law and the sovereignty of nations.”

Stalin Vladimir Centeno: 18 years of Sandinista Good Government: more Socialist and with more Solidarity than ever On January 10, 2007, Nicaragua regained hope with the return of the Sandinista Front to power. Since then, our Good Government has demonstrated that power only has meaning when it is exercised to serve. We have defeated the extreme poverty that was suffocating our people. The Nicaragua where millions survived in misery is long gone; today the poor can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Free public education has ceased to be a promise and has become a tangible reality. Our children no longer go hungry while studying: they receive daily school snacks, have free uniforms, books, and notebooks, and have decent schools that welcome them without charging a cent. People no longer die waiting on a hospital bench or are left holding a prescription without being able to buy medicine. Today, we have modern hospitals equipped with state-of-the-art MRI scanners, CT scanners, digital mammograms, linear accelerators for cancer treatment, and well-equipped operating rooms. National electrification reached[close to]100% of the territory. Drinking water reaches[almost]every home, ensuring health and well-being. New paved roads allow farmers to produce more, transport their crops, and sell directly in city markets, boosting economic development. While other countries bleed to death in conflict, Nicaragua has maintained order, citizen security, and an environment conducive to productive investment. We are today the safest country in Central America. Eighteen years later, we remain steadfast: socialist, united, and victorious.

Nicaragua’s national employment rate at 97.8 percent The report from National Institute for Development Information (INIDE) also stated the general unemployment rate, measuring employed people seeking additional employment, fell to 5.7 percent. Regarding underemployment, the report placed this at 38%; labor force participation reached 66.1%.

Co-President Rosario Murillo: Che inspired us and fills with strength all those who strive for justice in the world (October 8, 2025) It is now 58 years since Che's departure, although he did not leave, rather he remained here, in this World, where it is up to us all to change, change, change and continue changing conditions so as to bring about Justice and Truth on the Planet. Here with his endearing frankness, his Eternal Presence, Comandante Che Guevara, the Heroic Guerrilla. How he inspired us all! How he still inspires us all! Icon of the Revolutions of the World and of the Better World we are all building. Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara, in this Sandinista, Revolutionary, Evolutionary Nicaragua, we not only admire you, we not only revere you, we try to imitate that quality with which you were able to sow the farms for the harvests; farms where we planted the seed of that courage, of that temper which characterizes the world’s Peoples, especially here in our America-Caribbean.

TeleSur: Nicaragua Praises China’s Peaceful Rise  Foreign Minister Valdrack Jaentschke said that China has become a peaceful power, demonstrating the goodwill that everyone can escape poverty. “China’s example is what we believe we can achieve: lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty with the clear leadership of the Communist Party and the Chinese government. It is an indisputable example in the world.” During 2024, China granted Nicaragua approximately $920 million in loans for energy and infrastructure projects, consolidating its position as its largest bilateral creditor.

Gloria Guillo: Nicaragua's public health priorities versus US pharmaceuticals extortion In the U.S., a single 400 mg dose of albendazole can cost over $380, while in Nicaragua, the same dose is mere pennies. Albendazole treats infections like hookworm, pinworm, ascariasis, neurocysticercosis, and hydatid disease. Included on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, it’s a cornerstone for global health, especially in tropical regions where parasitic diseases are endemic. The Sandinista government, since 2007, has expanded public healthcare, subsidizing generics through partnerships with Latin American manufacturers like Cuba’s Labiofam. In rural communities, 60% of Nicaraguans face parasitic risks.
