Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition 5.22.2026: Hondurasgate; US and Drug Smuggling; Cuba threatened with Invasion
Rights Action: HondurasGate exposes U.S. and Israeli collaboration to weaponize Honduras for a right-wing agenda across the Americas Hondurasgate is the alleged US and Israeli interference plot to destabilize the governments of Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum, Brazil’s Lula, and Colombia’s Petro. Leaked audio recordings point to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, Argentina President Javier Milei, and Donald Trump as attempting to create a platform to spread fake news about those governments.
Mision Verdad: Hondurasgate and hemispheric dominationThis is an investigation published by Diario Red América Latina and the Hondurasgate platform, based on 37 leaked audios of conversations via WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram. They reveal that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was "fully involved" in the operation to pardon narcotrafficking Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández. The Hondurasgate scandal also demonstrates that the confrontation with China in Latin America includes the elimination of governments that maintain relations with Beijing.
Greg Grandin: A Short History of the Long War on Drugs in Latin America from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump The convergence of rightwing politics and drugs began at the end of World War Two when, according to historian Alfred McCoy, U.S. intelligence in Italy came to rely on crime boss Lucky Luciano’s growing “international narcotics syndicate,” which would reach from the Mediterranean Sea to the Caribbean Sea and from Istanbul to Havana, to conduct covert anti-communist operations. By the time Reagan became president, cocaine production in the Andean region in Latin America was in full swing, with a distinctly curious dynamic in operation: the CIA would work with rightwing, repressive governments involved in coca production even as the DEA was working with those same governments to suppress coca production.

Nicaraguan Government: Cuba. a Power for the Common GoodWith the Respect, Admiration and Affection that characterizes the historic relations between our Peoples and Revolutions, we express to Raúl, Comandante and Army General, to Miguel, President, and to the entire Leadership of the Revolutionary Party and Government and People of Cuba, our firm, integral and consistent Brother and Sisterhood and Solidarity….We consider this moment in our history as a Human Community extremely dangerous and pernicious for Peoples who have fought so hard for our Sovereignty, Dignity and Rights…Raúl and Fidel, Leaders of Heroic and Victorious Peoples
Cuba Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez speech on the present military threats by the US My country is under the threat of a direct military aggression by the US government. This is neither a paranoia nor a misjudgment. Statements made repeatedly by high-ranking officials and the very actions of the US government corroborate this...In the face of these actions, no State will be able to act in a sovereign and independent manner or exercise the sovereignty of its people. No State will be able to consider that the only sphere of application within its territory is its national laws....The brutally reinforced blockade has a devastating and incalculable impact on the daily lives of the Cuban people. It is an act of genocide and a collective punishment that causes extraordinary humanitarian harm, suffering, deprivations and extreme hardships to Cuban families.
Message of Comandante Daniel, Co-President of Nicaragua, at the Central Event in Commemoration of the 131st Anniversary of the Birth of General Augusto C. SandinoGeneral Sandino, Augusto Calderón Sandino, was born in a humble hut in Niquinohomo. His mother, a humble working woman, found refuge in that little shack, and there Sandino was born. And Rubén Darío, also, was born in a humble little house. You see, two great heroes of this Patriotic Nation…There were eight years of combat, and the Yankee troops kept coming, and more Yankee troops kept coming, and Yankee planes were sent to bomb. In the end, there was no recourse for them but to surrender, and they surrendered by retreating from Nicaragua, defeated.,,, And we listen here, sometimes, we listen to the unhealthy propaganda from the North, wanting to make believe that this country is in ruins, wanting to make believe there is no citizen security here. Of course, they say that from the outside, but sometimes they repeat it here, but they should pay attention to the song: Outside, outside say what you want, but here, on Nicaraguan soil, respect my Flag!
